Legal Framework
There are several relevant and pertinent pieces of legislation that govern the licensing and AML/CFT/CPF supervision of Dealers in Precious Metals (Licensed Gold Dealers). The principal Acts being the Guyana Gold Board Act, Chapter 66:01 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Act No. 13 of 2009 respectively. The Guyana Gold Board (Dealers) Regulations No. 4 of 1997 is also a key piece of subsidiary legislation which relates to the issuance of the Authorisation to Possess, Sell or Export Gold (Dealer’s Licence) and the supervision of dealers.

Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Act
There have been several legislative amendments to the AML/CFT Act of 2009. As such these legislative improvements include the following enactments:
