Licensed Gold Dealers

Authorisation of Gold Dealers

Pursuant to Section 9(1) of the Guyana Gold Board Act, Cap 66:01 and Regulation 4 (3) of the Guyana Gold Board (Dealers) Regulations No. 4 0f 1997, the Guyana Gold Board (GGB) is empowered to authorise applicants to possess, sell, or export specified quantities of gold, subject to such conditions as the Board may deem appropriate. This authority is granted through the issuance of an Authorisation to Possess, Sell or Export Gold, commonly referred to as a Dealer’s Licence.

Once authorised, such applicants are designated as licensed gold dealers and operate under the regulatory framework of the Guyana Gold Board Act and the Guyana Gold Board (Dealers) Regulations. These legal instruments outline the eligibility criteria, procedural requirements, and compliance obligations for obtaining and maintaining dealer status.

As of the current date, the Guyana Gold Board has issued authorisations to five (5) licensed gold dealers, who are permitted to operate only at the following authorised premises:
