Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacant
position of Accountant at the Guyana Gold Board’s Head Office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of the Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and for the development and implementation of financial and accounting systems to generate accurate reports and records relating to the Guyana Gold Board’s liabilities and transactions.

The incumbent will also be required to monitor general adherence to standard financial
practices within the Guyana Gold Board and to ensure that reports detailing income,
expenditure, and other financial classifications are prepared and circulated in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess the following credentials:

1. ACCA certification, along with three (3) to five (5) years’ relevant
   professional experience. OR
2. A Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
   Management from a recognised university, with over six (6) years’ professional
   experience, including supervision of or direct responsibility for accounting systems.
3. Demonstrated experience in costing, preparation of financial statements, and
   budget preparation.
4. Working knowledge of payroll and accounting software, with Sage being an asset.
5. Strong computer literacy is required.
