Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacant
position of Head of Laboratory at the Guyana Gold Board’s Head Office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing laboratory
operations to assure clients that systems related to the testing, evaluation, and pricing of gold are consistently aligned with the policies and procedures outlined in the Guyana Gold Board Act.

The incumbent will also be required to ensure that the Laboratory operates at an optimal level of efficiency from both a human resource and technical perspective, while managing the implementation of the Board’s policies and programmes relating to the purchase and sale of gold.

Additionally, the Head of Laboratory will be charged with overseeing laboratory operations at the Guyana Gold Board’s Branch Offices.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess the following credentials:

1. A First Degree in a science-related field from a recognised university, along with a
   minimum of five (5) years’ senior management experience within a laboratory
   setting.
2. Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge of basic engineering concepts,
   including the ability to repair, replace, and procure laboratory equipment.
3. Training in Management Information Systems and proficiency in Microsoft
   Office Suite.
